About the Cooma Little Theatre

Cooma Little Theatre is a non-profit community theatre which provides arts and culture (live drama, comedy, dance, musicals and dinner theatre). It is the only live theatre in the region and also hosts touring productions. Its self-sustained survival for 50 continuous years (in 2005) proves wide community support both from the larger towns and small communities like Ando (pop. 22).

The short-term goal is to deliver high quality live performances for enjoyment by audiences drawn mostly from surrounding communities in the Cooma-Monaro, Snowy River and Bombala Shires. Achievement of this goal also ensures an opportunity for volunteers from these regions to participate as performers, technicians and administrators in the productions.

The long-term goal is to ensure that Cooma Little Theatre continues to exist and extend its activities even more widely into the surrounding regions. Several initiatives are being explored with neighbouring dramatic groups, for example with the Thredbo Players who have already successfully toured a Shakespearean production to the Cooma Little Theatre.
