A fabulous mystery farce concerning newly-weds Edgar and Mavis. Two days after their wedding wealthy Edgar Hollister discovers that golddigger Mavis a nasty piece of work – is being unfaithful. Mavis and her clandestine lover plan to kill Edgar and run away with the inheritance money. After her first attempt to kill him by poison fails, Mavis resorts to cold-bloodedly shooting him and then returning to her lover. But, of course, complications ensue and her evil scheme goes hilariously downhill when it transpires that the shots were blanks and that Edgar's body has vanished.
